Weber 22" Performer Premium Charcoal Grill

The Weber Performer 22-Inch Charcoal Grill combines the familiar cooking performance of Weber’s kettle grill with a convenient cart, preparation table and storage shelf. It is a good fit for someone who enjoys authentic charcoal flavor but wants more workspace and organization than a traditional kettle provides.


Its 363-square-inch cooking grate can hold approximately 13 burgers. Adjustable lid and bowl dampers allow you to control airflow and temperature for direct grilling, two-zone cooking or low-and-slow smoking.

My verdict


The Performer is an excellent choice for charcoal enthusiasts who want classic Weber kettle performance with a proper work surface, storage and more comfortable cooking setup. It can sear steaks, cook burgers and chicken, or smoke ribs and pork shoulder using a two-zone charcoal arrangement.

Be aware that the standard Performer does not include the Touch-N-Go gas ignition system found on certain Performer Deluxe models. If fast propane-assisted charcoal lighting is important, compare the models carefully. Otherwise, the standard Performer delivers most of the practical cart features without unnecessary complexity
